How it works
Random practice shuffles the bank and never repeats a question inside one round; in order mode questions follow the order you entered, which suits reciting; missed mode only draws the questions marked "not yet". Ratings are written back to the question state and to the daily stats, and both the bank and the records stay in this browser.

Random Question Selection and Incorrect-Question Practice

Random Question Generator

How do I add questions to the question bank?

You can paste questions directly into the input box or import a local TXT file. Each line represents one question. If you want to save an answer, use the “question|answer” format, such as “What is the capital of China?|Beijing”. Questions without answers can also be used as a question-only bank.

How does random question selection work?

Random mode shuffles the current question bank and selects the specified number of questions. The same question will not be selected twice within one practice round. If the requested number exceeds the number of available questions, the tool shows the actual number available and uses the existing questions to complete the round.

Sequential and incorrect-question practice

Sequential mode follows the original order of the question bank and is suitable for reviewing questions in a fixed sequence. Incorrect mode selects only questions previously marked as Don't Know, making it useful for focused practice of questions that need more review.

How do I record answer status?

After viewing the answer, mark the current question as Don't Know, Unsure, or Mastered. The tool saves the question status and practice count, allowing questions marked Don't Know to be practiced again later using incorrect-question mode.

Today's practice statistics

During practice, the tool records the number of questions completed that day, the number marked as Mastered, and the corresponding accuracy rate. These statistics are stored in the current browser.

Keyboard shortcuts

On desktop, press Space to show the answer. After viewing the answer, use number keys 1, 2, and 3 to mark the question as Don't Know, Unsure, or Mastered. Arrow keys can also be used for the corresponding actions. Keyboard shortcuts reduce mouse use and are convenient for continuous practice.

Where is the question bank stored?

The question bank, question status, and practice statistics are stored locally in the browser and are not uploaded to a server. After clearing browser data or switching browsers or devices, you will need to import the question bank again.

Frequently asked questions

You can save the question bank again at any time. The updated question bank replaces the current bank stored in the browser. Clearing local data removes both the question bank and its associated practice status.

How do you use the random question generator?

Paste or import a TXT question bank with one question per line, set the number of questions per round, and start practicing. Random mode selects non-repeating questions, and you can also switch to sequential or incorrect-question practice.

  • Paste questions directly or import a TXT file, with one question per line
  • Use the “question|answer” format to save questions together with their answers
  • Random mode shuffles the question bank and selects questions without repeats in the same round
  • Supports sequential practice and focused practice of questions marked as Don't Know
  • Mark questions as Don't Know, Unsure, or Mastered and save their practice status
  • The question bank and practice data are stored locally in the browser and are not uploaded
For more structured review, use the flashcard tool for focused memorization, the Ebbinghaus memory tool to schedule review sessions, or the Pomodoro timer to plan dedicated practice periods.
