Markdown to Word Converter Online: Batch DOCX Generation, Live Preview, and ZIP Download
Online Markdown to Word Converter
Convert Markdown text into editable Word DOCX documents for further editing, sharing, printing, or archiving. The tool supports single-file and batch conversion, live preview, document layout settings, and file downloads. Documents are generated locally in your browser without uploading them to the application server.
Single-File Conversion and Plain-Text Mode
You can enter or paste Markdown content directly, or import .md, .markdown, and .txt files. Markdown files are parsed according to Markdown syntax. TXT files use plain-text mode, preserving the text without interpreting Markdown markers. When importing a file, the tool attempts to use the filename as the document title if no title has been provided.
Batch Markdown to Word Conversion
Select multiple .md, .markdown, and .txt files to read and convert them individually into DOCX documents. Batch processing displays the file list, file sizes, conversion progress, and the success or failure status of each file. Successfully converted documents can be packaged into a ZIP archive for a single download, making it easier to organize multiple notes, study materials, and work documents. Batch processing is subject to file-count, total-size, and per-file validation limits. If some files fail, check their individual statuses, formats, contents, and error messages.
Supported Markdown Syntax
The tool supports common syntax, including heading levels one through six, paragraphs, ordered and unordered lists, common tables, code blocks, bold, italics, strikethrough, links, and blockquotes. Actual conversion results depend on the parser and document-generation rules. Complex nesting, specialized extensions, and malformed Markdown may require manual adjustments.
Live Preview
The preview updates automatically as you enter content, helping you check headings, paragraphs, lists, and other common structures before generating a Word document. The preview sanitizes HTML and removes image elements to avoid loading external image resources. It is intended for checking content structure and does not guarantee the same pagination, fonts, or layout as the generated DOCX file.
Document Title, Font, and Page Margins
You can set the document title, body font, and page margin preset. Available fonts include Microsoft YaHei, SimSun, KaiTi, and Arial. Margin options include normal, moderate, and narrow presets. If the selected font is not installed on the target device, Word or another compatible application may substitute a different font, which can affect the final layout.
Table of Contents, Page Numbers, and Header
You can optionally generate a table of contents based on heading levels. The table of contents uses Word document fields and may need to be updated in Word to display the latest entries. You can also add page numbers in the footer, displaying the current page and total page count. When a document title is set, the header displays that title. Support for document fields, page numbering, and headers or footers may vary across office applications. Open the generated document and update the relevant fields to verify the results.
DOCX Generation and Download
The tool generates editable DOCX files rather than simply renaming an HTML or Markdown file with a .docx extension. Single-file mode generates and downloads one Word document. Batch mode packages successfully converted documents into a ZIP archive. After downloading, you can continue editing, printing, or archiving the documents in Microsoft Word or another compatible office application.
Unsupported or Limited Content
Images and embedded HTML may be skipped rather than converted into corresponding Word objects. Mathematical formulas and other specialized syntax may also fail to convert completely. The tool may display warnings for such content. If the original document contains important images, formulas, or complex formatting, add or correct them manually and review the final document.

Privacy and Compatibility
File reading, preview rendering, and document generation take place locally in your browser. Files do not need to be uploaded to the application server. Batch processing is subject to configured file-count and total-size limits and the capabilities of the parser. Complex syntax, images, embedded HTML, font differences, and varying support for document fields across office applications can affect the final result. Review important documents before submitting, printing, or sharing them.
