Online Image Editor: Crop, Resize, Rotate, Adjust Colors and Compress

For everyday image editing, the task is often just a few simple operations: crop a photo into a square avatar, straighten a tilted image, resize it to a platform requirement, brighten it slightly, and save it in a smaller format. Installing a large photo-editing application for these tasks is often unnecessary. This tool combines them on one page: the original image with a draggable crop box on the left and a real-time preview on the right. All processing is performed locally in the browser, and images are not uploaded to the server.

Upload and Paste

Drag in an image, click to select one, or press Ctrl + V to paste a screenshot from the clipboard. This is especially convenient when writing documents or working on development tasks. After upload, the top area shows the file name, format, original dimensions and file size. You can replace the image or edit it again at any time. Six input formats are supported: JPG, PNG, WebP, AVIF, GIF and BMP. The maximum size is 40 MB per image, and GIF files use only the first frame.

Preview Zoom: See Clearly to Crop Precisely

The preview area provides 25%, 50%, 75% and 100% zoom levels as well as a fit option. You can also zoom directly with the mouse wheel, use pinch-to-zoom on mobile devices, and double-click to switch between fit and 100%. Zoom only changes the display scale. For precise cropping, zoom to 100% for pixel-level alignment. Downloads always use the configured resolution and are not reduced in quality because of a smaller preview.

Crop: Common Ratios and Grid Guides

Drag the crop box on the image on the left to move its range, or drag the four corner handles to resize it. The current width × height in pixels is displayed on the crop box. Preset ratios include free ratio, original ratio, 1:1, 4:3, 3:4, 3:2, 16:9 and 9:16. After selecting a ratio, dragging automatically keeps it, making it suitable for avatars, covers and short-video covers with fixed proportions. You can also enter X, Y, width and height for precise cropping. When Grid and Center Guides are enabled, a rule-of-thirds grid appears inside the crop box. When its center approaches the image center, a blue dashed line appears and the box automatically snaps into place for easier centered composition.

Rotate, Flip and Correct Arbitrary Angles

The transform panel provides 90° rotation left and right, horizontal flipping and vertical flipping. For tilted photos, use the Arbitrary Angle slider to fine-tune from -45° to 45°. The canvas expands automatically, so the corners are not cropped as they would be with simple rotation. The expanded areas remain transparent and are filled with the background color when exporting JPG.

Resize and Common Dimensions

The size panel lets you enter a target width or height. Enable Lock Aspect Ratio to calculate the other dimension automatically without distorting the image. Four quick buttons provide proportional scaling at 25%, 50%, 75% and 100%. Common sizes include 1920×1080, 1280×720, 1080×1080, 1080×1350 and 1080×1920. Clicking one scales the image proportionally so it does not exceed the selected dimensions. You can also choose Custom and enter the dimensions manually. The panel shows real-time pixel changes between the original and output. Enlarging an image triggers a warning that quality may decrease, and output sizes above 40 million pixels trigger a recommendation to reduce the size first.

Color Adjustments and Filters

Color adjustment provides ten parameters: brightness, contrast, saturation, hue, invert, sharpness, blur, black and white, vintage and vignette. Filter presets include original, vivid, black and white, high-contrast black and white, warm, cool, film, vintage and invert. Clicking a preset applies it and synchronizes the sliders, and you can continue fine-tuning it. All adjustments affect only the output; the original image remains unchanged and can be restored at any time with undo.

Output Formats and Compression Statistics

Output format can be Auto (same as the original where possible), JPG, PNG or WebP. JPG and WebP provide four quality levels: low, standard, high and highest. PNG is lossless and automatically skips the quality setting. Because JPG does not support transparency, transparent areas can be filled with a background color when exporting JPG; other formats retain the alpha channel. Once settings are stable, the page performs a real encoding and shows a size comparison: original file, output file including format and dimensions, and the saved size and percentage. When downloading without parameter changes, the existing result is reused without recompressing.

Undo, Redo and Common Questions

The page keeps the most recent 20 editing states. The undo and redo buttons at the bottom correspond to Ctrl + Z and Ctrl + Y. Slider dragging is merged into one step rather than undoing every intermediate value. The bottom status bar always shows current output information such as dimensions, format, file size and savings percentage.
Will cropping reduce image quality? No. Cropping only takes a portion of the original pixels and does not re-encode the image.
How large an image can be processed? Up to 40 MB per image, with an output limit of 40 million pixels.
Is HEIC supported? Browsers cannot decode HEIC / HEIF. Files of this type trigger a suggestion to use an HEIC to JPG converter.
Do I need a separate format converter or compressor? No. The output formats and quality levels on this page already cover format conversion and compression. For batch processing, use the image compressor and image format converter tools.

Privacy and Data Security

The page has no upload interface. Decoding, cropping, rotating, color adjustment and compression are all performed in the browser. Images are not sent to the server and are released from memory after the page is refreshed or closed. You can safely process unpublished materials and internal images.
